What to do..

 ##OLD AOL BLOG POST##

 Not feeling good today.

As part of my IVA Application I have to open a basic bank account with no Credit facilities with a Bank that I owe no money to.

Well after posting on some forums (www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk is a great site!), It was suggested that I goto Yorkshire Bank as they offer a full blown Maestro Card on theres.. This is almost unheard of for a Basic Bank Account.  So I looked up their web site to see if I could open one online.. I couldn’t, So Plan B was to finda local Branch.  The nearest one is Northampton about 15-20 miles away.  So today I got all the stuff I needed ready and made my way to the Train Station, Paid £7 for my Train Ticket and trotted off to the Branch.

When I arrived at the Branch there was a guy infront of me who wanted to open a all singing all dancing Current account. They lady said it would be about 10 minutes to see someone so off he went to wait. I said i wanted to open a Basic Account with them and was told the same thing, So i went and sat in the waiting area too…..

5 Minutes later the same woman comes over and tells this guy it wont be long now, and then turns to me and says “you’ll have to come back later”! I replied that I had travelled a fair distance to open this account and just got the reply, “Well I would come back tomorrow then”.

No offer of a appointment or anything, Yet the other guy who just walked off the street like me got seen. I felt quite small and like I was being Judged for getting myself into this “mess”.  I’m embarrased by the state i’ve got myself into as it is, I don’t need that

It doesn’t bode well for a trouble free Banking future with them, But they have kinda got me over a barrell as I really would prefer an account with Maestro/Solo card.  Plus I’ve got to get it all sorted and up n running before next monday before I start my new job.   Grrrrrr Just don’t know what to do at the minute!
Plus I wasted £7 on a train ticket LOL!

Buses, Hotels & Money

##OLD AOL BLOG POST##

Well I’ve been quite busy the past week or so…

On Friday I went away for the weekend which was great, Met up with all my online friends, Had far too much to drink, Every photo of me looked dodgy.. (No need to comment on that thankyou!).. and bascally didn’t want the weekend to end.  Decided to stay an extra night as couldn’t face driving home on Sunday.  It was lovely to just relax and do buggar all. 🙂

On Tuesday I finally got my results of the medical I took the previous Friday for the Job thats taking an age to get.. Well the wait is all over now, after trundelling across london for most of the morning to collect my results, I passed the thing, and start the job on the 18th of Sept.

You would think thats what i’m looking forward to wouldn’t you, But no, not me!  The day after I start there is a Meeting for all the people I owe money to to vote if they accept my IVA and I can work at getting out of Debt, Thats what’s going round my mind at the moment…. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed.

Oh and some nice person has given me a cold over the weekend so I feel like Poo and its not doing my Psoriasis any good either :/

(I’ll stop moaning now)

Oh and I had this Text’d to me this morning.. I know some strange People!

It's Fast Approaching

#OLD AOL BLOG POST#

I’ve been applying for this job for over a month now.  I’ve never known a Bus Company to take so long over recruiting drivers, Especially ones who already have a Bus licence like myself. Anywhere else i’ve been the whole process has been carried out in a couple of days and your Route Learning before the end of the first week… Well not here! LOL

I travelled down four weeks ago for a ‘Maths and English Assessment’.  Basically some basic sums for working out change to give passengers and a few Highway Code Questions.  All the questions were multiple choice so were quite easy, We had 30 minutes it total for both tests, So I thought that the guy would mark them and straight after and then tell us if we had progressed to an Interview.  This didn’t happen, We were told to go back home, It was all over for today and we will be notified by post!!

I couldn’t believe it.  They could have been marked in 10 minutes, but there you go.  A few days later I get a letter from them saying I had passed and was invited for an interview the next Monday, So this has been a week now since the tests.  Once again I travel down there expecting it to be more than an interview, and to be told yay or nay on if I had passed.  But again the same happened, I was told I would be Notified by Post in the next day or two.  A week passed and I assumed I hadn’t got it, But got a letter on the following Tuesday to say I passed and will now need to have a Driving Assessment, Basically a mini driving test in a bus to make sure I don’t trow passengers around or drive into a wall or something.

It just all seems such a waste of time when it could all be done in a day, I can’t see any advantage of dragging it out like this, and doesn’t do me any favours as i’m unemployed and could do with a wage as soon as possible.

I’ve been worrying the past week or so that I wouldn’t be able to go away for the weekend in a fortnights time as I was so short of Money, Infact so short I haven’t gone out in the car, so that I don’t have to fill it up LOL.  But i’ve been selling some stuff thats beensitting round the house for ages and made over £170 so far.. So that’s really put a smile on my face.  🙂  <
