As someone that is unable to get credit, and until recently a debit card, I found Pre-Paid credit cards very handy.

I’ve complied a list of prepaid credit cards below as I feel that the only other site that lists them all is also on commission. The page is NOT!

The tuxedo card is quite a new entry to the Prepaid world but seems to offer quite a good deal.

ABOUT THE CARD

This is a Chip & Pin card and unlike some of the others is a full MasterCard. These type of cards are accepted in over 24 million places worldwide.

Also, until Mar 2008 there is no reload fee!

TYPE OF ACCOUNTS

There are two different types of accounts you can have:

Monthly: – This account lets you use your card as much as you like with no transaction fee. There is a monthly fee of £4.99 instead

Pay As You Go: – This type of account has no monthly fee but you will be charged a 2.95% transcation fee each time you use it.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR ACCOUNT

Servicing your account is quite easy as you can either call the automated voice line, Check your account online or even get your balance via SMS.

WHERE TO TOP UP AND FEES

You can topup your card at a High Street Bank, Post Office, By BACS transfer with a Credit/Debit card or at any PayPoint location.

The fees are as follows:

High Street Bank: FREE to load Money available within Two working days

BACS Transfer: FREE to load Money available within Four working days

PayPoint: 3% of load value Money available instantly

Post Office: 99p Load Fee Money available within two to four days

This is one of the lowest fee cards on the Pre-Paid market!
