‘B&Q’ Roundabout Modifications
It seems that that planned change to turn the ‘B&Q’ roundabout into a traffic light junction has changed into a much smaller scheme with some slight modifications to lanes and one of the roundabouts.
I can see why this scheme has changed as it’s obviously alot cheaper to implement, and with the main congestion problem being vehicles wanting to turn left from Saxon Street into Watling Street East being allocated their own lane it should help. Sadly it looks like the second biggest cause of Traffic buildup, the Pedestrian crossing outside Tesco, is staying. Work is due to start shortly.
Service update for Sat 04/02/12
All services will be only using Grid Roads in Milton Keynes for the rest of today’s service due to road conditions.
More transfers in
A few transfers in to us ate starting to appear as we start to transfer out most off our solo’s.
This bus, 3513 was collected from Watford today and will be on the streets of MK as soon as it’s been converted to single door and painted green.. Two similar buses are already done and just waiting for destination blinds.
Bus timetables are coming up short!
I was going to make a comment about this, and the lack of accuracy with the reporting, But I’ve decided against it

A day spent at Wycombe garage trying to sort out their real time system…..
I’ve never understood why they park all the broken/dead buses against the fence nearest the road so that its the first thing you see as you pull up alongside the depot… Not the greatest impression!
…and apparently this bus was on fire for more than 3 hours lol

The first Arriva Branding at MK started today on Route 5/5A
TV Tonight!
Well, If you are at home tonight, and have nothing better to do then you can spend a bit of time BusDriverJames spotting on Channel 5 at 8pm tonight during The Gadget Show. I am sure the bus will get far more coverage than me, But will be interesting to see how it’s played out compared to how it was recorded on the day!

Service Changes from Sunday 23rd October 2011
Changes to Arriva Milton Keynes bus services from 23rd October 2011
Service 1
Some Off Peak journeys to and from Lavendon will not serve Emberton and will use Drift Way in Olney. Some journeys will now terminate at Olney. Revised Timetable
Service 3
Sunday journeys will use Standing way between Kingston Centre and Monkston and will not serve Grove Way/Open University. Revised Timetable
Service 4
Journeys at School Opening & Closing times will divert from Two Mile Ash, Using Great Monks Street between TMA and Hodge Lea, and also Divert via Field Lane, Greenleys. Revised Timetable
Service 5/5A
Services will now Terminate at Wolverton Agora. It will no longer be possible to transfer between services, eg. New Bradwell to Stony Stratford. Through fares will also no longer be available. No change to Timetable.
Service 2
Arriva will now be operating the full Westcroft – Newport Pagnell route on Sundays, With extension to Renny Lodge. Revised Timetable
Service 7
Arriva will now be operating the full Wolverton – Bletchley route on Sundays, Revised Timetable
